BONE CRUSHER: Larger Than Life
By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices
So there is life after hip-hop.
I'm not talking about the super-duper diva making jazz albums and raking in dough hawking pizza and make-up, or the squeaky clean Oscar nominated Philly native making power moves behind the scenes in Hollywood, either.
What's to become of today's generation of hip-hoppers?
There are much more rap artists --reaching the major masses-- as ever before, but what happens when they're chart-status flounder?
Don't laugh -- but the reality TV phenom can restore some people's careers (good morning, Flavor Flav).
Bone Crusher, who's not really on a reality show but is one of the stars of VH1's weight loss challenge 'Celebrity Fit Club 4,' already has major irons in the fire that can pan out to some great career moves.
The super-sized southern rap star (legally known as Wayne Hardnett) enjoyed moderate -chart success with his 2003 album, the Jermaine Dupri-helmed 'AttenCHUN!,' which produced the Top 30 single "Never Scared."
He's planning a return to music working on his inaugural rock/rap effort featuring Jim Johnson who produced the Usual Suspects, Good Charlotte, Billy Hume and Bread and Water.
"I got a bunch of crazy black boys that like that metal s**t," the Atlanta native said of the project."That’s why we named the band The Onslaught, and I’m not just rapping on this record, I do a little singing too. It’s the perfect mix of rap and rock"
The rock album will debut on his own record label, Vainglorious Entertainment which he founded with his wife and manager, Aneesah Bray.
Before then, his publicist confirmed that he will make appearances on 'The Tyra Banks Show' (premiering September 29), as well as on Food Network's 'Iron Chef America.'
After 100 days and 16 grueling weeks of strict dieting, intense physical challenges and exercise, Crusher set the show's record for the most individual weight loss ever by dropping 19 lbs in one week, with a total loss of 43 pounds so far. "I’d like to do a work out tape for big people" he added. "There’s a lot of stuff out there for all the skinny minnies but nothing for bigger people who are just starting to embrace the weight loss process."
The last episode of 'Celebrity Fit Club 4' airs October 1 on VH1.

THAN I'VE DONE.YOU HAVE A VERY MEEK AND GENTAL SPIRIT.KEEP UP THE
GOOD WORK. -
I like the fit Celebrity Fit Club Challenge this season. I was inspired to watch it when I heard Angie Stone and the Rapper Bone Crusher was to compete. I have not missed a show. Angie is hysterical, but Bone is adorable, big or smaller. He seems to be okay with himself and you've got to have that either way and whatever size you are. I wish him much success with his career, life family,
and weight. -
I have watch all of the CFC's with my children, and this is the best one yet. My children and I, are all over weight, and watching the show really has inspired my 9yr old son (that weighs 150lbs). He is very sensitive about his weight and seeing Bone Crusher is giving him a different out look. My son also loves rap music and someday said he wants to be a rapper. When I told him that Bone was a rapper, I ended going to buy the cd. I just wanted to say that the Bone Crusher has put a great effect on our lives. We try to work out at least 3 times a week while listening to that cd. May God continue to bless you Bone Crusher and your lovely family. Nelifoxx4
