MALIK YOBA: Shining BMW

By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices

Always shining, Malik Yoba is a B.M.W.

That stands for "Black Man Working."

For real.

Fresh off the heels of starring in the Off-Broadway production of ' 'Everythings Turning Into Beautiful,' the 39-year-old 'New York Undercover' heartthrob has snagged another plum assignment.

This go round, the Bronx native returns to television in the form of a forthcoming mid-season drama, titled 'Raines.' According to 'Daily Variety,' Jeff Goldblum ('The Fly') has been cast in the title role of an eccentric-yet-brilliant cop who solves crimes by talking to dead victims, while Yoba will play Raines’ ex-partner and confidant.

Before heating up the stage this past summer (with 'Rent' star Daphne Ruben-Vega), Yoba was last seen on the short-lived FX drama 'Thief' (same show Andre Braugher won an Emmy Award for this year).  Although he may always be remembered for his break-out role as Detective J.C. Williams, he left an indelible impression on the sitcom 'Girlfriends' as the recurring character, Brock Harris.

I am so glad to hear that Malik Yoba is doing well.  I still watch New York Undercover and I was pissed when it was canceled.  It was truly one of the best shows on T.V.  I am glad to hear you are doing well.

I love Malik Yoba. He's very sexy and manly. He's the reason I still watch New
York Undercover on TVone. I'm hoping to see him again on a show such as
Girlfriends, playing someone else's Love Interest. Keep doing your thing Malik!

    Big Fan, Pam

It is amazing to me how negative people can be.  It's one thing to have an opinion about a persons acting and/or singing abilities but to TRY to diss on something as small as ashy lips.  COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!

THIS IS A POSITIVE BROTHER - DOING HIS THING.

He is God's child; Beautiful and hard working - KEEP DOING YOU - MALIK.

What's up Malik! Continued success in your career. You won't need it because you are that good!

    Now...if I may say...

...I can't believe you HEIFERS (you MALE heifers and you FEMALE heifers) trying to crack on this man's physical characteristics. Like y'all look so damn good! I've heard that insecure, unhappy people attempt to tear people down to build themselves up...I guess it's true! Work on yourselves, people! I'm sure you don't look as good as you THINK you do! And you're probably people of color! Tearing down a person of color...one like yourself!

Yeah...you're probably that smart MF-er who will riot & burn down his own neighborhood to prove a point to
    "the Man"...LOL...get it together!
