FLAVOR OF LOVE: A Grand Finale Indeed

By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices

So Sunday night's finale of the second season of VH1's wildly popular show 'Flavor Of Love' will go down in the cable channel's history as the Number One telecast of all time.

With a record-breaking 7.5 million total viewers watching as the 47-year old Public Enemy hypeman selected the bootylicious babe Deelishis as his love match over the notorious Miss New York, 'Love' became the #1 telecast on cable for the night.

According to a spokesperson, figures show that 'Love' is the #1 non-sports telecast in all of basic cable for the entire year, while also enabling VH1 to now rank as #4 among all basic cable networks during Sunday primetime year-to-date.

Wow wee.

And as can be expected for a slick marketing ploy, VH1 announced today that 'Flavor of Love' seasons one and two are now available for purchase and download exclusively on for $1.99 per episode at the iTunes Music Store.

Can someone say ka-ching, ka-ching?

Let's hope this translates financially well  for Flavor Flav (legally known as William Drayton), who according to a recent 'New York Times' spread "was scalping baseball tickets for extra cash, battling a long addiction to drugs and racking up arrests for driving without a license," just a few years ago.

On a recent episode of 'The Tyra Banks Show' (my guilty pleasure) -- the same one where he slapped the former super-duper-model (playfully)-- she asked him was the Viacom-owned music-centered channel paying him a lot of money.

He coyly responded, "They are paying me a lot of attention."

Ummmmmmmmmmm: Mister, you better get your mind and your money right.

You are the true epitome of an old school hip-hop career that has been rescucitated.

Ya heard?

To hell with itunes and all of that MP4 beeswax. I want a Flavor Flav bobble head doll.

Yeah I know NY was only brought back on the show for ratings, and I don't think that was COOL.... Flav has real fans and I think that real fans make a real good show. After flavor of love 2, I will NEVER watch another of his shows EVER.... Don't get me wrong I do like Flav, but I hate fake people and that show was soooooooooo fake..... so that makes Flav very fake.... ( keep it real... u ain't gotta lie to kick it...) Flav had lots of people fooled with that show I really felt sorry for him, because I thought he was really looking for love. And it was a shot in the foot, to find out it was all a BIG lie...
