THIS JUST IN: Mo'Nique Brings Her "Charm" To 'Flavor'

By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices

Although 'Flavor Of Love' has become a history making success for VH1, the black elite media backlash ('Essence') and the subsequent reports about it not really being reality may have become a public relations nightmare.

Earlier this week, while in New York City to promote his "first and only" solo album, the Public Enemy hypeman and reality TV sensation Flavor Flav confirmed rumors that he had a relationship and impregnated another woman -- not a contestant on the show -- while the show was being filmed.  Or the actual winner Deelishis (legally known as London Charles, I think).  She is reportedly dating a professional football player.

It's safe to guess that it won't be a third cycle of 'Flavor of Love' since the public was hoodwinked once again. (The show's first season winner Hoopz did not run off in the sunset with the 47-year-old rap veteran, either.)

Mo'Nique to the rescue.

Don't get crazy, now.

The super-sized superstar of TV, film and the literary world (who just released a the cookbook 'Skinny Cooks Can't Be Trusted' via Amistad/HarperCollins this week) is not joining the show to compete for Flav's love.

She is, however, tied into a new TV project featuring contestants from seasons one and two of the wildly popular series.

Today, VH1 announced that star of 'The Parkers' will host the forthcoming new series 'Charm School,' which will feature 'Flavor Of Love' ladies being trained in proper etiquette and having their social skills put to the test.

This is not a joke, people.

"These girls are outspoken and outrageous, but they need some focus and direction," the Maryland native funnywoman proclaimed.  "I’m just the woman to give it to them.  You will see a metamorphosis in these girls, I promise!"

Oh, so that's why Whoopi Goldberg is now the host of 'Showtime At The Apollo.'

Each contestant will compete in challenges testing poise and grace and will be judged on their ability to handle pressure in difficult situations.   Described as a real life 'My Fair Lady,' the show is about transforming the women from a flavor of the month tothe ultimate standard in class and sophistication.

Oh, okay.

The same folks who produced 'Flavor of Love' and'Surreal Life' are the minds behind this.

There's no date set for this show to premiere -- at press time-- but I am certain that this will breathe some new life into what seems like an undying fad.

And like many of you, I can not wait to see how it all unfolds.

BV Extras:

-- BV's very own TV Blogsmith Marcus Vanderberg doesn't believe the hype and is officially "flavored out."

Mo'Nique has to be one of the BEST and Beautiful woman in the world, her spirit is So uplifting for all of the BBBW of the world.  I have been a fan for years and everytime I see her she consistently holds it down, Sista you are beautiful and I know God will continue to bless you.  When are you coming to South Carolina (where some of the most BBBW reside)?  I am a transplant here fron Brooklyn NY and I would absolutely LOVE to have the chance to meet.  May God continue to bless you and keep uplifting the beautiful women of our community.  God Bless. Mona

Are you all just saying that stuff becuase you are fat ...because Mo Nique is not a nice person, she doesn't even like her fans, she is saditty and stuck up for no real reason, she's just a fat bitch who got lucky. She looks like a bull dog to me and acts even worse. Don't think i'm a hater, I know, I met her I stayed in the same room with her and walked on the same red carpet, she got mad because i stopped in front of her when she was trying to snub her own fans. I stopped short and made her stop and greet them. She wasn't even going to wave at them and they were hollering and screaming her name... she is a BITCH! She thinks she is the shit, but to me she is shit.....
