STAR JONES REYNOLDS: B(l)ack In Business

By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices

I sure hope you didn't write Star Jones Reynolds off just yet.

The former co-host of ABC's 'The View' has bounced back from that publicity nightmare that her departure from the long-running Barbara Walters chatfest caused last spring.

Now, the 'New York Times' best-selling author is making power plays in front and behind the TV camera as host and executive producer of a year-end special for TV One, the fast rising lifestyle channel aimed at African Americans.

According to a network spokesperson, Jones Reynolds is confirmed to helm a two-hour project exploring "the major cultural, political and entertainment developments of interest to African Americans in 2006," but a date had not been finalized at press time.

Dec. 17 is the airdate the Cathy Hughes-owned network is aiming for.

"This special looks at what had black Americans talking this year and what should have had us talking," the spokesperson revealed to The BV Newswire today. "From the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to the groundbreaking of the Martin Luther King memorial to the hit series 'Flavor of Love,' Star Jones will highlight the hottest, the coolest, most important, most surprising and most disappointing events of the year."

Sounds like a good deal, indeed.

Can't wait to see it.

What's your name? Star, you are one in a million, you speak from the depts of your soul.  Being a woman of color as myself, and from the islands I speak from my soul.  Star there is nothing can keep a good woman down.  The Veiw sucks since you left.  You was the Star on that show, and therefore they couldn't handle you.  But to look at things for the way it is one door closed and another has opened.  There is nothing can be taken from you what God has install for you.  Keep shining and looking forward, and do what you have been doing all along.  The Right Thing, Real Thing, Truth and that is all that matters.  May the Lord Guide and bless you always.  Shine on Star, Shine On.

    Hey Star,
Glad you're doing something positive.  However go for the ""Big Fish".  Soaps, Entertainment Tonight...  You're an attorney be creative.  Don't let WAWA win.  The view will soon be a thing of the past.  If they thought you talked to much..what the hell about Rosie.   I do like her, I feel the Barbara should have stood by you.  And just told you to stop taking about Al so damn much.  The best to you.
