Any extra's to share?
Dear Cindy,
I have a request for the Giving Tree. As, later this summer I'll be getting my own little kitchenette area, son is redoing the basement area, & I'll be moving down there. I'll explain all about it in my upcoming entry in my main journal, when I come off journal hiatus in April.
But I have nothing for a kitchen. :( , & since the floors will be linoleum, I'll need some throw rugs. Plus a couple bedspreads would be nice, as I have one, but it's very thick & wintery. So, I was hoping a few J-Landers might have some things they no longer need. ????
Maybe you could post in the Giving Tree?
TY Sug
Spring Cleaning Time Coming Soon!
I'm in need of a couple Qn or King sz bedspreads, & some throw rugs (with rubber nonskid backing). Also, kitchen stuff (utensils, dishes, silverware, pot holders, dish towels, etc). I don't need a lot, it's only me, but a few things would be nice. If you have any to discard, please email me before you toss them out.
TY,
Sugar

Easter Basket for a Child in Need
Easter is coming early this year! I'd like to make an easter basket for a child (or two) in real need. Easter goodies and candy so the Easter Bunny doesn't disappoint anyone.
You can contact me directly if you are really in need a little help next month. If you have a journal too please pass along the link as well. :-D

Deployed Soldeir Loses Home..Can you help?
www.soldiersangels.org is a group of angels that supports our deployed troops. I am signed up for an emergency notification of major help needed. Here is the copy of the email I recieved: (I have removed the mailing address to send money to or gift cards, if you would like the mailing address please email me at CanyonSunGirl@aol.com )
Dear Soldiers Angels:
We have a very serious request this evening, we have a Deployed Soldier (J*** D***) that was on his tour in Iraq when he was called home due to the recent Tornadoes. His home was blown away, and they lost everything they had.
They didn't even have anything thing to clean up all they have is the cement slab where the house used to be. I have seen pictures and there is absolutly nothing left.
The Military has given him 2 weeks leave to take care of the situation and this is the email I received from Donna Williams the AR. Team Leader who went to see what they could do to help
"We went to Atkins yesterday and met with them to give them the Walmart card and Justin made it into town Saturday night. The military is only letting him stay for 2 weeks but they are grateful for that. This couple is amazing! The tornado picked up their home and exploded it then carried off everything they had. They found a few articles of clothing, a few photos, the back to her recliner and the door to their refrigerator. That\'s it. They didn't even find so much as a fork from their kitchen.
The Dixon's are country folk who farm and work hard - they are definitely not lazy and were just speechless when they rec'd the gift card. They are so thankful for it and wanted ya'll to know.
Thank you both so much and we are going to get busy on fundraising here in Arkansas!!
Donna"
Soldiers Angels sent some money for a gift card, but it is a drop in the bucket compared to what they need. The Address is right below this and there is a PayPal String right below the address if anyone wants to use that.
On this paypal string just remember that sometimes in transit the underline disappears so if you want to use it make sure all of it is underlined or it won't work
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=donations%40soldiersangels%2eorg&item_name=Seavia%20Dixon&no_shipping=0&no_note=1&tax=0¤cy_code=USD&lc=US&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF&charset=UTF%2d8
Anything you can do for this deserving Soldier and his family would be greatly appreciated
Sincerely,
Bonnie Averett, VP Soldiers Angels Org.

Thank You
Below is a Thank You from the journaler who received help from Jeanne & Bernadette :-).
I would just like to extent a huge thank you to the two Jlanders who sent me the sheets and sheet set. It was like Christmas. The set makes my room feel like a home not just a place I sleep. The curtains will fit perfect (once I get the rods)
And it's so nice to not only NOT end up on the bare mattress but to be able to change my sheets. I am used to doing that once a week or more. A bit OCD, now I don't have to hurry and wash my sheet to get it back on the bed.
Sorry this is long but I am so grateful to you both and also to the giving tree. It's a wonderful thing that has made our little community come together to help so many.
Once again thank you and my God bless you.

Cards for a female soldier in Iraq.
Linda, who just discovered The Giving Tree, has a request for her niece~
I was wondering if the people that read the giving tree would be willing to send some cards and care packages to my niece who is stationed in Iraq? This is her third "tour" over there and this one is for 15 months. She just left on Thanksgiving day. She is a bit down about this one since it is so long and she just got married over the summer.
Please contact me @ frankandmary@aol.com for her Niece Jennifer's address in Iraq if you would like to send her something. Thank you. ~Mary
