Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept Launch

Pretty sweet launch for Acura of their Advanced Sports Car Concept ... this could pave the way for the new NSX!

Ellen here:
The launch of the Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept was introduced by Honda CEO Takeo Fukui. I was impressed how some of the big CEOs came to launch their newest vehicles, especially the ones who don't live in Detroit. :-) This sleek car, only slightly reminiscent of the original NSX, has a powerful V10 engine, a low cabin, and laser-sharp edges.  These sharp lines are Acura's way of depicting the technical precision that they are so proud of.  In fact, they reported that we'll start to see more edginess on the MDX, TSX and TL in coming models, which will all be worked on at Acura's new design center in California.

Chris chiming in:
So far on day one Acura had the classiest unveil. A booth that stood distinguished and stylish cloaked in black granite-like panels with simple video screens displaying crisp lines of bright color set the tone. In the middle of the stage rested a vehicle under a drape of silky white. Nothing fancy, but it got you excited for what lied beneath. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

After Acura CEO Takeo Fukui made his speech about their heritage and his personal racing career he asked the audience to welcome their new product. Lights dimmed and a deafening sound of swirling wind surrounded the onlookers. On the main video screen a tornado raged and 'wind' began blowing the white cloak on the car, it kept getting stronger and stronger, making the entire car look as though it was 'boiling' before snapping the covering off completely to unveil a sleek metal-toned sports concept.

I love the original NSX, so I was excited to see a possible successor in the idea pool. Though it is described as a concept, many journalists believe this could be a good indication as to the design direction for Acura on their next super car. Expect V10 power and SH-AWD technology. I just hope they keep it looking this aggressive.

Here is to dreaming.
