Best Booth of the 2007 Detroit Auto Show
The cars are the main attraction of the show, to that there is no doubt. But without the amazing ‘booths’ to display them in, the cars would be jelly without peanut butter, Mork without Mindy – what I’m trying to say is they would be lost. So we decided it was time to give credit to the hard working ‘booth’ and let it have a moment in the spotlight.
The aura of massive booths like the Ford and GM (check out the videos of them: click here) definitely leave a mark. But it was the creativity of smaller booths like Scion and Jeep that just made you say “Wow that is cool!”
Our runner-up is Jeep, but not because it lacked coolness factor. With custom slate floors, natural stone walls, man-made mountains and a ‘rain wall’ that could spell words in water, the booth definitely brought the outdoors in. It made you want to jump in a Jeep and go off-roading and it went perfectly with the Jeep image. Great job Jeep and Chrysler.

Scion takes our crown for Best Booth of the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. Though not as complex as the Jeep booth or as large as Ford’s, Scion shined by sticking to basics and just being damn cool. By displaying 12 of their diminutive, yet fully customized cars in a massive grid pattern on the wall, Scion effectively developed a larger-then-life toy chest. Each grid position could be fully covered by a video monitor or left open to display the colorful car inside. As we walked by we thought “Man I just want to take one of those out and drive it!” You can see some video of the booth in our Detroit Auto Show Video Page.
