Gulf Coast Rebuilding

MS Gulf Coast : We have a plan
New Orleans : We gots us a plan, too

MS Gulf Coast : We have trucks waiting on higher ground to move food, etc.
New Orleans : We gots our trucks parked, too. Just in 6 feets of water.

MS Gulf Coast . Police will be back on patrol as soon as we can move around.
New Orleans : Cops loot Wal-Mart.

MS Gulf Coast : Home owners begin clearing debris by themselves.
New Orleans : Who's gonna clean up this mess?

MS Gulf Coast : It'll cost me some savings to rebuild, but . . .
New Orleans : Where's the damn government with the debit cards?

MS Gulf Coast: We are partners with FEMA, but it starts here first.
New Orleans : Damn FEMA, why wasn't they ready?

MS Gulf Coast : It was worse than I believed. I should have evacuated.
New Orleans : They didn't send nobody to gets me.

MS Gulf Coast : Leaders: we have work to do, let's get started.
New Orleans : Leaders: let's go to Las Vegas and party.

MS Gulf Coast : We made a few mistakes, but we learned.
New Orleans : It was ______ (fill in the blank) who was at fault.

And you wonder why the  MS Gulf Coast  isn't getting the news coverage New Orleans got? The media doesn't want to see a state with it's act together or watch people work to rebuild. Whining, complaining and infighting. That's news, Baby! Now do you believe and trust the news media? Now it is your turn to pass this email to all your friends and tell the truth.

Good analogy. No I do not hear folks in MS or AL complain. I am having a hard time figuring out why ever house and building in NOLA was not required to carry flood insurance?

part two of the below comment:

We as a country, have lost so much face, world wide, in the past few years, that it is going to "take an act of Congress" to pull us up out of the muck we are in.  To pull out of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the rest of the third world countries we are working in, to rid the world of Terrorism, before these countries, no matter how small and unstable they are, is ready to hold their own, will result in nothing but complete disaster to that country.  Even some of the honest reporters, returning from the area are saying that.  One the other day, on FOX News, stated that the entire news pool was handed the same information, and she was the only one who reported on the events, and the rest did a file thireteen with the information, because it wasn't horrific information, therefore, not new worthy.............Jim

Jari, there are many reasons that we do not read of all the good that is going on in the world of events, such as Katrina and Rita, demolishing the Gulf Coast, the Letter from the Mayor of Tall 'Afar, Ninewo, Iraq addressed to the members of the 3rd ACR, for all the good they did while in their area.

The good accomplishments by those who perform these tasks are not news worthy according to the Liberal Press, and that can be taken in any context one desires to read into it.  In this respect, I like to refer to our days in Vietnam.  I did not work with the Special Forces A-Teams, because of my activity in Special Operations over there.  HOWEVER!  Our A-Teams would build schools, community centers, hospitals, aid stations, and make life much more enjoyable for those Vietnamese civilians living within their sphere of influence.  Once the VC and/or the NVA would learn of all this gratuity being afforded the locals, they would come in the night, burn the subjects down, burn the villages down, kill the Village elders, and then run and hide.

The next day, the A-Teams would be right back in ther rebuilding what had been destroyed.  This, by the way, was a repetitive cycle, which, as you know, was one we never did win, because we were not allowed to win the war.

Hell, this country hasn't won a war since WWII.  All the rest since then have been stalemates, and/or unwinnable.  Hopefully, the powers to be will allow the military to finish the task at hand.  Which will surely cost more lives, money, and equipment, but by all means, we must finish this one, otherwise, the rest of the world will know, that the United States "eats shit and barks at the moon," as the age old expression goes.

I have been wondering of how the media has been handling this case.
Even our news tells nothing nowadays, afterall it was a huge disaster.

our news are only speaking of mohammed cartoons.. and how US troops are dying in iraq..

have people really forgot what happened ????
