Monday is the end of a big weekend for me; my brother married and I saw everyone in my family for the first time in nearly three years. While uneventful (mostly - I'll spare you the comments a few of my more choice family members sent my way), I am emotionally exhausted. Dealing with those that challenged me, and having to challenge myself, wore me out. Still, I'm glad I made it up there and helped my brother have a special weekend.

You're such a good person for dealing with all that and still enjoying the weekend and making it special for your brother.  I wish him much happiness in his marriage.

welcome back Charley!! I have missed you.
Glad you were there for your brother on his wedding day: something my mother always used to say was " you can choose your friends but you can't choose your relatives". If it makes you feel any better we all have some interesting family members...many I just choose not to see anymore b/c they are so negative all the time. And then there are others; like my 85 year old Aunt that I would do anything for. It can be so frustrating.
Take care and have a good week!

It's been said many ways but I like this wording most:

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear."

    Said by Ambrose Redmoon.

Your blog is named appropriately :o) You saw what was important and put everything else aside.
