The Enterprise Finale

Okay, I admit it. I'm a Star Trek fan. I've watched all the various Trek series' and am currently a regular viewer of Enterprise. Yes, I know...the theme song is pretty bogue and the show has messed around with Trek mythology in ways it should not have...but still, it's generally pretty good.

The finale, on the other hand, ended badly. Scott Bakula, Enterprise's captain, somehow gets shot back in time...I think, or maybe he doesn't; maybe he's in a timeline where the Germans won World War II, I...and he wakes up in a combat zone field hospital run by the SS. As if that wasn't bad enough, one of the SS officers is definitely more alien than aryan.

Nazis. I hate those guys.

Especially on Star Trek.

The rantings about the ending on the various message boards are rather remarkable, not least for the realization that most of the writers are functionally illiterate.  I always thought Trek had a rather educated fan base, but I'm beginning to wonder.

In any event, yes, the ending was silly.  The alien Nazi, however, appeared to me to be Reman, the sister and slave race of the Romulans.  So I would guess they are setting up some sort of conflict with the Romulans for next year, albeit, admittedly, in a highly convoluted way.  But I'm looking forward to anything involving the Romulans.
