Arafat dead
CNN and Al Jazeera have both announced that Yasser Araft is dead.
Here's my post of October 27th, the day he entered the hospital. I think it bears repeating:
Who says there's never any good news anymore?

Is time finally running out for Yasser Arafat? We can only hope.
Arafat spokesman Nabil Abu Rdeneh has said, “The situation is stable now, he is in stable condition, but he needs more rest and more medical care.”
and remained in a “very difficult situation,” Palestinian officials have said.

Ireland Online characterizes his condition thusly: Arafat 'stable' after collapse
'Stable' eh? I think that's the first time he's ever been accused of that.

Arafat had been eating soup during a meeting between 8pm and 9pm tonight when he vomited, according to a bodyguard who was in the compound at the time.

Arafat was brought to the clinic inside the compound, where he collapsed and was unconscious for about 10 minutes and remained in a “very difficult situation,” Palestinian officials have said.

A team of Jordanian doctors was urgently summoned to treat the ailing Palestinian leader.

Arafat's the Palestinian "leader" all right, but the only place he's led his people is straight into the abyss. They, and the world, will be well rid of him.

Israeli security officials said his wife, Suha, who lives in France, was expected to arrive tomorrow.
Of course she lives in France. She wants to be in a place where she can spend the millions her husband has looted from the Palestinian people, and there's very little to buy in the Palestinian Authority aside from rocks and burial shrouds.

Yasser Arafat. Look upon his works, ye mighty, and despair.

I mean, really despair.

I fear now that Hamas will fill the power void left by his deah. And that will be, if you can believe it, worse than Arafat.
