Steve Martin and The Pink Panther

I am SO glad that Steve Martin's 'Pink Panther' remake has hit the theaters. I am SO over the stupid previews they have been playing. I do not like Steve Martin to begin with and I really don't like to see remakes of movies unless they can significantly improve on the film.

Hearing Daniel Powter: Bad Day

You had a bad day

You stand in the line just to hit a new low You're faking a smile with the coffee to go You tell me your life's been way off line You're falling to pieces everytime And I don't need no carryin' on

Heard this during the American Idol credits tonight. I took an imediate liking to it. I guess I've been having more than my share of bad days lately.

Oh well .. things will get better!!

Super Bowl Weekend

This weekend can best be described as a series of miscues, misfirings and misunderstandings.

We decided to go down to Parliament House and check things out. While we were shopping, Matt chatted with a friend of his who mentioned that he and his b/f may join us. So we get this call around 8 Pm asking when we're going to be there. It looked like we'd be making an appearance around 10 pm.

We arrived around 9:30 pm, paid our cover and just hung out. As it go closer to 10 pm we decided to take in a drag show. No sooner did we get settled on a viewing spot, Matt's friend called. They had just pulled into the parking lot. Matt told them we were in the 'Spotlight Theater'. His friend told him that they were not going to pay for cover. Okay ..

So we decided to forgo the show and meet them outside. We spent the next two hours outside. It was so cold that most of the 'drink stations' closed down due to lack of business.  We even went over to the Moon but it was packed. So we broke up around midnight and went our separate ways.

We did some more shopping Sunday. Made our weekly trip to Best Buy to see what was on sale and stopped off at Walmart to pick something up for supper.

When we got home, it occurred to us that EVERYONE was either having a Super Bowl party or was invited to a Super Bowl party but us. Not that we're even into sports. When someone asked me who I was routing for, I had to struggle to even remember who was playing. So in an act of desperation, Matt decided to call his friends from our previous evening encounter. Their initial response was a simple 'No'. They had to get up early. So we left it at that. But within the hour his friends called again and said that they would be over. They planned on being here by 5:30Pm.

We spent the next few hours quickly cleaning up the apartment. We rushed dinner and I even managed to get  few loads of laundry done. Then, just as we were about finished, Matt's friend called again. He had a sudden onset of diarrhea and they couldn't make it after all. I felt bad for Matt. He was looking forward to having his friends over, even if it was for only a few hours. So we finished cleaning, ate supper, had a few drinks and watched some movies.

Feeling Mischievous

I did something evil today

I had created a few new screen names. I didn't even have time to create profiles. I went into one of the Orlando chat rooms. Within minutes I had two local guys bothering me with the usual 'What are you into?' and 'Stats'.

I was feeling a bit mischievous so I pulled a picture from the web and sent it to guy number one. He wanted to call me. So I asked guy number two if he wanted to call me and make arrangements to meet. Of course he said yes!

I sent guy number two the phone number of guy number one! Cruel!

The Super Bowl Makes Strange Bedfellows

We went grocery shopping today and I could not help but notice the unusually high number of male 'couples' roaming the aisles of our local Albertson's. We even spotted an unusually large number of male 'couples' shopping at Sam's. Most of these couples were pretty hunky looking to boot!

Then it hit me! These were most likely straight guys, who under normal circumstances, would not be caught dead shopping for food by them selves let alone with another male friend. These male friends were performing a yearly bonding ritual which ends in what is called 'The Super Bowl Party'. They were out  hunting in pairs, gathering food for this great feast!

And silly me! I thought the whole world had gone gay!!

We did get a second treat when we pulled into the apartment complex. Young bare-chested males were carrying furniture into the apartment building next to ours! Unfortunately, I could not get a clear short with my camera from our balcony! I can only say it will be nice to have fresh meat in the neighborhood and nicer that they're not in THIS building!

I'm evening accomplishing something at 'work'. I've been trying to trim down my email inbasket! Only 67 unread emails to go!! Whoohoo!!
