Well I finished 1 cor 3-5 and learned from Paul of how the people of that time acted and that they didn't even seem to care that they were fellowshiping with sexually immoral men. wow! Paul was definately TTP with these scriptures! I will study 6-8 tomorrow and when I'm at my mother in law's I'll study 9-11. on Wed and thur 11-16 so I'll finish out on Thursday. It's really a good book.

I'm still suffering with allergies so I have to go get some pills for that tomorrow. I also have to do laundry. Fun! ? eww!

It's not Icy Hot

I woke up with a sore lower back and Mike tried to help me by putting arthritis medicine on my back. I wnted icy hot so I washed it off and now it's ON FIRE! Whoa! Well I just woke up because I couldn't sleep last night. Tonight is the first night of my new bible reading plan and this should be great since I am more of a night person. Take care ya'll

Last post for the night decisions made

I mentioned in my first post ever that I wanted to set a time and a place to study the Bible. Now is that time to decide where and when and how to keep it holy and not to miss this time with God. I haven't figured it out quite yet because I am often going to the Valley and staying over night with my mother in law and will soon be going on vacation and then in July will be having a friend come over for 22 days, but I know none of these are good reasons not to choose and stick to a dedicated time for me and God. So I will just do it because I can't make any excuses. I will "make holy" as the study says some time for God and so that I can pray, study the bible, and get closer to God.

I will schedule my bible time for 9 pm no matter what comes up. I will also commit to putting my thoughts and feelings in this blog. I would like imput from you also. I will study on http://www.biblegateway.com when I am at home and I will email a section of scripture to myself so I can listen to it on the phone when I'm not at home. I will post messages here about my study progress either with voice or text.

I feel good that I have chosen a time and a place. I just want to make it work for me. I need this time with God and I really need to make it a HIGH priority to study God's word more often!

I am done blogging until tomorrow.

1 cor chap 2

I got from the first set of scriptures in 1 cor chapter 2 that our faith shouldn't be solely based on a precher's ability to persuade and teach us. Our faith should be in Jesus Christ himeslf and not the wisdom of man!

If people of that age would've told the rulers the wisdom of Christ then they wouldn't have crucified him on the cross and he wouldn't have saved us from our sins.

God didn't give us the spirit of the world. He gave us his spirit that we may know the things that God freely gave to us.

This one was a little more difficult for me because of the language. If you have any insights on this please share them with me. I realize that the things of God were mysteries to the rulers because they would've not crucified the Lord. There's a little fuzzyness about this thing where the rightous get judged rightly and the foolish believe that the things of God are foolish. Wait did that make any sense? I may redo this section of scripture when I'm not so sleepy.

tired but happy

Hello everyone!

Today has been a great but tiring day! I have my allergies that are tryin' to kick me to the curb, however, God's love and strength is keeping me going. I am so grateful to God for his love and support. I am on fire over here for the Lord and getting stuff up on the website at http://www.mikesmaze.net IF YOU ARE READING THIS FROM AOL check out the website. You won't be disappointed!

I just learned there's going to be a ladies day on Saturday and I am going. Yes this will be fun and I will gain something from it. I always like going to these events.

I'm also getting excited to help out with vacation bible school. In July we'll be having our bible school. I love kids so this is a way I can help :)

I have less than 2 months now till I take my trip to Tennessee to see my family and ride to Pennsylvania where I was born and raised to the rest of my family. I'm hoping to make a positive influence on them.

school stress for Mike

Mike is having term paper stress. School is really stressful for him and his computer is not acting right. I'm tired and we are going to worship very soon. I should have caffine but I don't have any. I don't want to be sleepy through worship. I don't like that. then what are you there for when you go to sleep right? Well Mike wants some of the banana pie that was at pot luck but he won't get any now. He should've tried it then. So I'm out of here for now. God bless

The rest of 1 cor chapter 1

The main theme of the rest of 1 cor. is that God makes the wise foolish and the foolish wise. God doesn't always call out the rich or the wise. God calls the foolish and brings these things to light to them and gives them knowledge. and we should only have glory in God not ourselves or our possessions.

I will study chapter 2 tomorrow. My eyes are really watery and itchy and my nose is sneezy. It's allergy time here in Southern California. Thanks for reading and don't forget to comment if you wish. I am willing to take correction and refinement. I am not stiff in my way of thinking. This is my first time to really read a chapter and put my thoughts down on it for all to see. So if you think I have to dig deeper or something just let me know.

Thoughts on 1 Cor 1-17

Before you read what I have to say you should know that I am not trying to usurp authority on anyone or trying to teach anyone my way of thinking. I am merely putting down my thoughts on "paper" for myself and others to read and possibly respond to. If you think I'm wrong certainly feel free to post a comment same for if you agree.

I haven't read all of Corinthians chapter 1 but I noticed something there in those first verses that caught my attention. I know there are rifts between members of the Church and I see there plainly that Paul warns not to do this! I just wonder what happened? And then there of course the denominations in the religous world, but Paul wasn't talking to them, but this should be a reminder or a wake up call to them that they are not to be out of the TRUE church!

I am not trying to usurp any authority on anyone when I put my thoughts down and I surely welcome any comments from anyone. Maybe it's me but this command seems easy enough to follow.
