Update

Okay, gang, if you're tired of listening to the crickets chirp in this dusty ol' space, here are the latest mail destinations for Classic Plastick:

Tustin CA, Louisville KY, Newport MI, Highlands NJ, Elmhurst NY, Blairsville PA, Rixleyville VA and Schwerte, Deutschland. That's somewhere near Germany, I think...

Have fun, folks! And 'Thanks for your patronage!'

Meanwhile, there's lots to see at the Classic Plastick Message Board! There's the brand spankin' new custom box for the Marx James West figure. By our box-making bud, Anthony, at THE TOYROOM Custom Boxes, it's super duper!

Plus ogle the new girl doll togs- The Amazonian and Steel Girl, wink, wink! -by the inimitable and mysterious Classic Plastick Sewing Lady plus the usual updates and Plastick-related blather you just can't get anywhere else! We need your feedback over there and your happenin' presence in general, so swing over and register today, why don'cha?!?

Oh, and in the 'lest we forget dept.': It's 'official'! In addition to humble homespun toymaker, I am also a 'comic artist' with several character design contributions to up-and-coming Affable Comics comics and animation projects! Yay!

With a giant 'Muchas gracias, amigo!' to my pal, Scott Foster, head honcho and all-around swell guy(meaning he's the boss, man!)for his effervescence, encouragement- and everlastin' patience to boot! -while I got my drawing legs under me again. He's got a head full of ideas and, by thunder, he's makin' it happen, right now!

So, check out a few of my scribbles, filed under Affable Comics - News, and browse the rest of the Affable Comics offerings while you're at it. Watch for them in better comic shops and cartoon venues everywhere... SOON!

Finally, the current Wilton Batman count: 5

Stay tuned!

Snowy day update

Hey ho, gang! It's been a month of Sundays since I've updated here, favoring the swingin' Classic Plastick Message Board in place of this forum. And like every open signpost on the vast internet, that board has its share of spammers so it's become necessary to require membership to peruse those columns. It takes just a minute, maybe two, to create a member name and password so if you wanna keep up on the goings-on at the toy lab, there's no better place to do it!

For the casual observer I will try to update this space with mailing news at the very least, just so the tumbleweeds don't take over completely.

Speaking of mail: There are a few goodies making the post this week and I meant to do that today... but in my haste to beat the falling snow and the crush of workday traffic I swung off on my usual shortcut home from work today, missing the Post Office exit by a mile! Doh! So watch for mail news tomorrow if you're looking for your fair city to be named!

In other news: Our photo albums have been updated with a swell new photo-record of a fun play date with some of my local toy geek buds, looking over a great collection of vintage toys and stuff. Lotsa groovy playthings to gawk at! Check it out under "Pattoo Toy Expo" using this handy link:

That's all for now! Stay Tuned!

Post and more

Okay, then, here are the latest postal destinations this week:

Redwood City and San Jose CA, Norridge IL, Boston MA and the Big Apple- or somewhere close by anyway -New York NY.

In other news: I've got another in the proposed chorus line of Wilton Batman figures on the way, yay! I must have had the Ideal figures- including Batman this same pose, with the same removeable cape, only smaller -as a wee lad but my memories of this figure are clearer. Both my Mom and Grandma were bakers of all manner of doughy products so the Wilton cake decorating catalogs were required reading for them.

For me too with all the colorful cartoony plastic figures made for posing on top of cakes, their feet cemented by ooey gooey frosting. There were wannabe Beatles, cowboys, sports figures, fishermen and there was... Catman, of course. I suppose when their license ran out and there were still hundreds of thousands of figures in the warehouse or on the boat from China they had to obfuscate the true nature of the shadowy character with the batwing cape and the bat emblazoned on his chest with a slight- very slight -change of moniker.

I'd get one every year- after last years model was lost, melted, dismembered, beheaded or otherwise destroyed by the villainous forces roaming free in the backyard -and promptly cut him free from his plastic base. He could no longer stand on his own; a small price to pay for the freedom to swing from a Batrope of white string without the encumbrance of that clunky foot stool o' plastic!

Sign In In September

Hey, gang! I've concocted a shameless method to attract some new blood over on the Classic Plastick Message Board: It's been some time since I rattled the plastick bins, as it were, and offered FREE STUFF! So all month long I'll be taking names for FREE STUFF at the end of the month.

Simply register as a member of the board during the month of September 2007 and you'll be eligible for TWENTY-FIVE big Plastick bucks. Add a comment to any forum- Make it count, not just 'I wanna win FREE stuff!', puh-leeeeze! -and I'll add your name to the hat for another TWENTY-FIVE clams worth o' FREE stuff!

Aaaahh, now that's what being the self-proclaimed Poobah of Plastick is all about. Giving it away to the slavering masses!

Oh, and all you guys who've already signed on, I'll throw your names in the hat for good measure too!

What's that? You say you want some fine print? Sure: Plastick prizes are awarded at the sole discretion of Wes McCue and designated representatives of Classic Plastick. Prizes are redeemable only for items currently offered through the Classic Plastick website and are good for any new or future order from the website or via email but not toward pre-existing orders or eBay auctions. Prize awards are not redeemable for cash, actual clams, virtual money or any form of legal tender of any nation, state, county, gullywash or municipality. Prize award must be used in full toward merchandise; unused balances may be carried over to future orders but in no event will a remaining balance be returned in cash or legal tender. (Which is not to be construed as my intention, by any means! I just have fun stringing sentences and verbiage together like that. Hey, some people like sudoku... )

Like I always say, 'Fun is where you find it!' So, join the fun and SIGN IN already! September is waxing! But it'll be waning before you know it!
