Gibert, You Know, Is Tight

The rest of the world seems to be catching on to what those of us in the D.C. area have known for a couple years now: Gilbert Arenas is the man.  Not just for his skills on the court, but his somewhat eccentric personality and the fact that he donates a jersey to the crowd after every game.

Having said that, I noticed something hilarious and/or annoying about Gilbert while watching Comcast SportsNet this morning. The man simply can't say "you know" enough.  Here's a transcript from about a 20-second clip of Arenas talking to the media about Game Five (he is sandwiched between Haywood and Jordan):

"You know, our back has always been against the wall. You know, the whole season when you think about it. You know, right now, you know, we know we have an opportunity, you know, to do something and to make a name for ourselves. Truthfully, if we let him burn himself out, you know, and just keep him from getting 30, 10 and 10, you know, we have a good chance."

Total Count: Seven "You Know's"... plus one "We Know" just for good measure.

BONUS: Check out "Queen James" by the Wizznutzz.

How about this Reggie Bush quote from when he was on Sports Bloggers Live?

"I'm looking forward to, uh, you know, getting my parents a house. That's something, you know, I've always, you know, dreamed of. Being able to take care of them. I mean, you know, Get them whatever they want."

That's four "you know's" in a much shorter statement. Too close to call!
