That Has to Hurt a Little

Obviously it is old news by now that the Preakness favorite Barbaro completely demolished his leg into about 20 pieces on Saturday.  If you are like me, and were busy doing something more productive (like playing poker), then you may have missed the race.  Click on the photo of Barbaro's mangled leg to watch the race in its entirety.

I'd be lying if I said I don't feel bad for the horse. I couldn't care less about its millionaire owner, but clearly Barbaro is in a world of hurt.  There is a bit of comic relief in the video, however, when after the race one of the commentators says (referring to horses), "We can't talk to them, and they can't talk to us."  Thanks for the insight, but apparently some people actually believe that horses can read.

RELATED: No word on whether this guy making out on the ground and getting beer poured on him is actually SBL's Lush Nemeth or not.  Also, if you'd like to kill about 20 good minutes, just search "Preakness" at YouTube.com for some solid gold videos.

I hope the horse can be saved. If not they should salvage his sperm and/or dna to try to bred an off spring. All efforts should be made to save him, even if he cannot race.  Research can be done in the event that this happens to other horses. It might help in treating humans as well.
