ESPN/SI's Killer Fantasy Info

When I got home from work yesterday, I noticed that ESPN was doing a 90 minute fantasy football preview. "Great," I thought. They'll have on some fantasy experts and I'll get some decent inside info. So you can imagine when any and all excitment/expectiations I may of had for this show were killed when I turned it on and saw Boomer, Mort, Tom Jackson and Michael Irvin sitting at the anchor desk.  Some real fantasy gurus there.

Yep, just check out some the amazing picks these fantasy football masterminds made:

Mortenson takes Reggie Bush sixth overall.  Yes, as in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6th overall.

Salisbury takes DeShaun Foster 16th overall.  Someone didn't tell him that your players don't score points while on the IR.

Ditka takes the Bears defense in the 4th round. And why not?

Tom Brady is the third QB taken overall. I don't have much issue with the pick, but it was the analysis that made me wanna kill myself: "All this guy does is win games."  Let me double check how many points you get from "wins" in fantasy football. Oh right, zero.

ESPN isn't the only major sports outlet completely killing any fantasy credibility that they may of had. Check out some real winners from SI's draft:

Tiki Barber goes third overall, with Tomlinson still on the board.

Tom Brady goes eighth overall. Again, all he does is win games.

Peter King takes Chester Taylor 14th overall.  If there are two things this man knows, it’s coffee and fantasy football.

Larry Fitzgerald is the first WR taken, which makes perfect sense seeing as he will split numbers with Boldin, and you know, Steve Smith sucks.

LenDale White is taken in the fourth round.

Clearly I will not be returning to either ESPN or SI’s fantasy pages for the remainder of the season.  For some real fantasy insights, check out PFT’s new offspring.  Also, listen to SBL’s first round that we recorded last week.  It’s shorter and slightly less annoying than watching to ESPN’s idiots go through all ten rounds of their draft.

They should have had Marv Levy come on, just so we could watch him try to steal Bronco Nagurski in round three.
