Greatest Catch Ever? I'd Say Yes

In the wake of the Cardinals triumphant underdog victory in the NLCS over the Mets, let us not forget quite possibly the greatest single defensive play in the history of playoff baseball.

Okay, maybe Willie Mays' catch in Game 1 of the World Series in '54 can rival it, but the video of that sucks and YouTube wasn't around back then.  So for me, Endy Chavez's over-the-wall grab is where it's at.  If the Mets had won Game 7, that catch would never be forgotten, but after losing, fans are more likely to recall Beltran striking out looking with the bases loading in the bottom of the ninth.

PS. Spare me the Jeter talk, Yankee fans.  His little cut-off lob to the catcher to get Giambi in the playoffs a few years back has NOTHING on Chavez's heroics.

That catch was nuts. But the only baseball I'm looking forward to is the Phils getting rid of Burrell and stealing Alfonso Soriano from the free agent market!'
