MDS at the FanHaus (via The 'Berg at DC Sport Bog) has brought to my attention an animal rights group with a lot of nerve. The Animal Legal Defense Fund (are their really animal lawyers? 'Cause that's pathetic) sent a letter to Clinton Portis and the Redskins urging CP to work with law enforcement in Mississippi to bring dog fighters to justice.  It starts off a little something like this:

"The Animal Legal Defense Fund sent a letter to Washington Redskins players Clinton Portis and Chris Samuels today, urging them to cooperate with local officials investigating crimes involving dog fighting."

It gets more ridiculous from there.  Portis already made it clear that dog fighting -- as long as it's done in the safety of a millionaire athlete's backyard -- is cool with him.  And whatever's cool with No. 26, is cool with me.  Besides, you can't ask a man from the backwoods of Mississippi to be a snitch.  They might have better luck asking Joey Porter for help.

  Portis have an animal? Hope not. How sad to condone cruelty because he thinks Vick is a friend. I used to like Portis.
