It seems that J.J. Redick and Adam Morrison may have more than just the player of the year debate in common; apparently they both get extremely favorable treatment from the officials.
After losing to Gonzaga in overtime Sunday night, University of San Diego coach Brad Holland said, "Make sure you write that they shot 26 more free throws than we did."
That was nothing compared to what USD forward Cory Belser had to say: "If I was guarding anybody else in the nation, I feel there really wouldn't be a call. [Morrison's] always saying to me, 'Welcome to Spokane. We get the calls.' It kind of shows, I feel like. He's constantly talking to the refs, saying I'm hooking him, I'm holding him."
Belser went on to accuse Morrison of being, well, a cold-hearted SOB: "[Morrison] says some personal things. The last game when we lost to them, he told me if I got hit by a train and died, he wouldn't care. Tonight, he was like, 'You're a role player. Did your family come to watch you play your last game?' His tactics are a little unclassy. He's not what college basketball should be."
I would say that telling someone that if they died, you wouldn't care is beyond "unclassy." Whether Morrison said that whole bit about the train or not is up to speculation, but the mustached one did have some comments in response to Belser that could indeed be labeled as "unclassy."
"It's over and done with," Morrison said. "Like I always say to him: 'Scoreboard.' I've never lost to him, and losers never get a chance to talk trash."

Having watched this self obsorbed SOB play this year, all I can say is he has to be THE most overrated player in the nation. He is one of the most dirty players in the WCC, along with Bautista. He was always whining to the refs, and the refs let him get away with murder at every game.The LMU game was proof of that. Several times he was caught by the camera grabing the LMU players while running downcourt, But because he is Adam Morrison the refs just look the other way.
I hope he does go on to the NBA, and he gets his ass handed to him by pro players. JJ Redick is a far classier player and desreves the noteriety. Morrison is a BUM
