I go to George Mason in beautiful Fairfax, VA (ok, so it's only beautiful if you love traffic, overpriced bars and housewives in SUVs that are way too big for them), so I'm allowed to get a little excited about their amazing run to the Sweet 16.

Did I pick them? Hell no.  I had Michigan State in my Elite 8, but that won't stop me from rooting for the school I go to.  Besides, no one picked Mason to go this far, so it doesn't hurt me in my pools.

The Patriots little fun run deep into the Tourney is not over, however.  On Friday night they meet Wichita State (CAA vs. MVC: Billy Packer needs a clean diaper), who they already beat in the regular season... at Wichita State.  Oh, and did I mention it's basically a home game for GMU? They are playing in D.C., which is about 20 minutes from previously mentioned beautiful Fairfax. 

So even though predictions are worthless now because your bracket is probably already in the trash, go ahead and bet your friend a bottle of Jager or something that Mason will be in the Elite 8 against UConn.

  i go to GMU too... and i have them in my bracket as going all the way vs. Duke.... gotta have a little faith! :)

  Pretty amazing that Washington is the best team UConn will have to beat on there way to the Final Four. Not as amazing as George Mason in the Sweet 16, though.  When was the last time an 11 seed made it to the Elite 8?
