Mason Is Kryptonite!

As was reported on Sunday, GMU head coach Jim Larranaga played the song "Kryptonite" by the Purple Ribbon All-Stars in the locker room before the Patriots game against UNC.  He used it to motive the team, explaining that the Heels players are like Superman and the Patriots are kryotonite.

Well now you can listen to the "Kryptonite GMU Remix!"  It is the original version of the song with audio from Laranaga's pregame speech spliced in.

This is so awesome on a number of levels, but I think the best part is that Larranaga was actually familiar with this song.  He knows what's hot on the streets.

[Big thanks to my brother for the mp3]

UPDATE: More audio for your listening enjoyment. Hear the full 30-second audio of Larranga before the UNC game.

Ironically, that song was played before UNC's women's basketball games.  And the women are still in the tourney.

PS: Is the coach aware that it's a song about weed, not Superman myth?
