Coming Soon: New Message Board Features

Francis

In an earlier entry, we reported that the RSS feed was coming to message boards. We also alluded to the fact that there are more surprises to come. "What are they?" you've asked. "Will you have that thing we've been asking for?" you've queried.

Yes, many of the upcoming features are those you have been asking for. Here are some highlights.

The RSS Feed: You already heard about this and it is coming first.

My Recent Boards: Have you ever been to a board and wanted to get back, but couldn't find it again? This will help you get back to some of the boards you've been to most recently.

Jump to Page: When you are reading a long thread, sometimes you want to skip to the middle of it, or even to the end of it. This will allow you to do that.

Sort by Management Level: You will be able to quickly find all the AOL Managed boards or Member Managed boards within the containers.

Sort / Collapse by Rating: You will be able to only see the most highly rated message boards or posts if you choose to.

Editable Posts: If you accidentally misspelled a word and want to go back and fix it, you will be able to. This feature has been a very popular request for a while and we are finally able to do it.

Smileys: Like in e-mail and IM's, you can :) and :D toyour heart's content ... this time with pictures.

Last, but not least...

::drum roll::

Spell Check: That's right folks. You will be able to check your spelling before posting your message. This is a personal favorite and one that I believe is the most requested feature.

As we find out more about when each of these are coming, we will be sure to let you know.

In the mean time, let us know what you'd like to see in all of the AOL Community Products.

Which of these features are you most looking forward to?
