Life Just Got A Litte Easier: RSS Feeds Are Here
There has been a buzz amongst the team this past week involving the new features being added to Message Boards. Today we released an enhancement that allows Message Board users to subscribe to their favorite boards with an RSS feed via My AOL.
You will notice a few changes to the appearance of the message board pages. The "You Are Here:" bread crumb trail has been updated to make navigation easier.
There are also two new buttons on the message board pages. The orange RSS button allows you to add an RSS feed to a newsreader program. I recommend following whatever instructions the manufacturer of your newsreader software provides to add the feed via this button. The second light blue button named, "+My AOL" is what I am totally stoked about. When you click that button, it automatically adds the message board to your My AOL page.
Here is how you do it:
1. Click on the "+My AOL" button from the message board you want to keep up with.
2. Next, you will see a page that looks like this:
3. From there, name the feed whatever you'd like, categorize it and click "Add Feed."
4. You may do this for all your favorite boards. Then you can find them all on your My AOL page.
I am LOVING this new enhancement. It is really easy to use and a nice alternative to the “My Boards” feature that I use now.
With the My AOL RSS feed, I am now able to stay on top of my favorite message boards without having to jump from board to board. Best of all, there is no program I have to download!
