Calendar: The Second Article in a Series About Community Tools

Ryan

A shared AOL Calendar is a great tool for putting your community on a schedule. “A schedule?” you say. “But I hate schedules!”

Relax.

If you are a visual person like me, using a tool like Calendar is a great way to share the “big picture” of your online activities. If you host a chat (or want to), you can post the date and times you plan to hold the chat, and you can then share your calendar easily.

You can also use the calendar tool to organize your offline life. For instance, everyone in your family, on your soccer team, or in your work group can create their own calendars under their individual screen names and then share them with others. That way, everyone is able to stay in sync with one another.

If you are a gadget guru like me, you’ll appreciate that you can sync AOL Calendar via Outlook so your PDA/Smart Phone device is always in the know with your latest online exploits.

So go ahead, create a schedule, share it with some friends and help build a blazing-fast world of online synergy.

Once you have created a calendar, tell us about it and how you plan to use it, especially if it's for your community activities. We'd love to know what you are up to! Who knows? We might even jump in on one of your chats or IM sessions.

Share your community's calendar with us.
