In a company-wide meeting last week, I learned that AOL is going to dole out free local phone numbers to AIM users. A FREE phone number? Wow! That’s what I’m talking about!

Think about it. You’re on a message board and you meet someone who lives in your town. You have only known this person from a couple sessions online, so you’re not comfortable with giving out your home phone number to chat, but your AOL Phoneline? Definitely.
