Changing Your Privacy Settings in OpenRide
Have you tried the AOL OpenRide yet? If you have, you will find that it is very different than the AOL experience you are used to.
One of the aspects I would like to highlight is how to change your Privacy Settings.
Why would you need to change these settings? If you want to prevent certain types of individuals (or groups) from IMing you. In addition, if you find yourself getting a lot of SpIM, you will be in control of stomping that out.
Changing Privacy Settings in OpenRide Is as Easy as 1-2-3:
1) Launch OpenRide and click "Sign In," located in the upper right corner.
Sign in with your AOL screen name and password.

2) Click on the "People" section, so that it turns orange. (You should now be
viewing your Buddy List.)

3) Then mouse over "Settings," then click on "Privacy." You will then see a
"Settings - Privacy" menu.

From here you can adjust your Privacy Settings and allow and block anyone you choose. A helpful tip if you receive a lot of SpIM is to select "Block Internet Users." Those users are classified as AIM users, and spammers often abuse AIM. If your friends are AIM users, add them on the allow portion and you should then receive their messages. Be sure you hit Save when you are finished so your changes take effect.
If you have any questions about OpenRide and community-related features, don't hesitate to ask.
