More on the Message Board Search Issue

Some of you have experienced headaches when searching the AOL Message Boards. At this time, the Message Board team is aware of the problem and a fix should be in place shortly.

When you use the search feature, you are actually searching an index of board posts, not the actual posts themselves. This prevents the Message Board server from becoming painfully slow. Unfortunately, when the indexer is down, so is the search function on the boards.

So, while the indexer is re-indexing the boards, you can use AOL Search to search the boards. Simply copy and paste this into your AOL Search box:

site:messageboards.aol.com phrase

AOL Search harnesses the power of Google to search for the word “phrase” within the AOL Message Boards Web site. Go ahead and give it a shot if you need to search the boards.
