Help Me, Help You, Help Everyone!

Hello, folks. We're looking to improve our People Connection Help page and we need your input. I'd like to improve the page so you can find your answers quickly for any Community product you want.

This is the help page that is primarily used to support our various community products like Message Boards, Chat, Expressions and more. The challenge in this, is that community products are unique because they don't connect you to the Internet, they connect you to people. We strive to make it easy helping users with any questions they have about those products. In an effort to improve it, I come to you -- the experts in user experience.

Illustrated above is what the page looks like today. The page has a lot of helpful content that presents the information in a simple and clear way for users. Unfortunately, a lot of the content is "below the fold" (meaning you have to scroll to read it) and that can be time-consuming when you want to find the answer quickly. The good news is that we have a great opportunity to make the page even better for you!

I've got a challenge for you. I want to see your ideas put together head-to-head with mine and see what we get. That is, tell me everything you want out of the People Connection Help. What would make it the most helpful online reference that helps new users meet new people? Is it tutorials and screen shots that make it above the cut, or text acceptable? Think about what you look for most when you seek out help, and let us know how we can better meet those needs for you.

Simply, think about what would be some good ideas to improve it.

I will follow up at a later date with the ideas and flex my Photoshop skills to create some visual samples that you can cast your vote on.
