Subject: Taking on more missionaries
Time: 8:14:42 PM EDT
Author:  copschaplain

New Life Baptist church already supports a lot of missionaries; and has paid for a church building in Africa and one in India; plus pays the Pastors of those churches salaries until they can get the congregation able to support them. We also sponsor the New Life Baptist church in Spring Lake, at the Cedar Wood Shopping center until it can become able to support itself and get a building.  New Life at 6502 Camden road is going to start the Faith Promise Program as part of our missions program outreach.  We will have our first Missions Conference coming up.  Watch the journal here for upcoming news.

Subject: Our first wednesday at the Adult Daycare Bible Study went well
Time: 5:32:52 PM EDT
Author:  copschaplain

We received a warm welcome from the staff and guests today at the Adult Day care Bible Study.  It was my first time there and neither of us knew what to expect or ask, even though I was thoroughly briefed.  The Activities Director and Manager were kind enough to ask that we return the first Wednesday in September.  I preached a message today but will conduct a Bible Study time in September, instead of preaching a message.  They did not request that, but I found that this was supposed to be a Bible study and I will endeavor to conduct it that way.   Today I had  intended to open with three or four Karaoke Gospel songs; as a matter of fact, I stayed up past midnight transferring the background music off of CD's onto cassette so I could sign with the tapes.  I left the casette at home but will take it when I return in September.  This is an adult day care and not a rest home; they do not stay there at night and are bused in and out at the end of the day, returning to their homes. Thank you for your continued prayer for Circuit Rider Ministries, as we endeavor  .to preach His Word, edify the Lord., and be a blessing to others.

There will be a teacher and worker workshop Saturday, August 23, at 9:00 am taught by Dr. App Thomas.  It is open to all churches but you must register in advance.  There will be a fee of $25.00 per person.  It is a valuable session to teach the church teachers how to better instruct their classes.  Call the church at 423-8574 or write to New Life Baptist Church, 6501 Camden road, 28348.

Subject: God Gives you enough
Time: 9:07:37 AM EDT
Author:  copschaplain

Bud Price, my friend that is a civilian contractor in Iraq, sent me this email.  I thought I would share it with you,...

"God gives you Enough happiness to keep you going, enough trials to keep you strong, enough sorrows to keep you human, enough hope to keep you happy, enough failure to keep you humble, enough success to keep you eager, enough friends to give you comfort, enough wealth to meet your needs, enough enthusiasm to make you look  forward, enough faith to banish depression, enough determination to make each day a better day than the last, and enough honey to keep you sweet.  Life  must be lived forward, but can only be understood backwards."

Subject: I was asked if I was leaving the ministry
Time: 3:57:33 PM EDT
Author:  copschaplain

NO! I am not leaveing the ministry.  I began  of Circuit Rider Ministries, a voluntary ministry.  I was unaware that there were numerous organizations of the same name when I chose that title.    I am still the only Chaplain for the Fraternal Order of Police in Cumberland County and  was appointed to the executive board of the Fayetteville Chapter of the Retired Military Police Association.as their Chaplain.   I also provide voluntary worship services  at the Village Green Rest home off Purdue street, the first and third sunday afternoons  of the month and to a second rest home facility.    There are two churches that call on me at the spur of the moment to fill their pulpits when needed.  I accepted the position of Adult Sunday School teacher, effective March 16, 2008.  I am not bragging about me, I am just saying as the Word says, to let your good works so shine before men that the Father may be glorified, to paraphrase His Word.  No, I am not leaving the ministry.
