Dr. Neil Bain, interim pastor of Galatia Presbyerian church, passed away. He was a great man, loved and respected by many. He preached my Father's funeral back in 1995. I did not know he had moved back from Jacksonville, NC where he had retired to, or I would have had him preach my Mother's funeral in February, 2008. Dr. Bain was related to my Mother, Mom's maiden name was Bain. I think he was one of her distant cousins.

New meeting place for Fraternal Order of Police MEMBERS is 310 Green street, almost across from the downtown Post Office. We will NOT be meeting at the Ramsey street location, that was only temporary. All members are expected to attend the next meeting unless providentially hindered (sick, work, etc.).

A recent newspaper article quoted some area women as saying keeping women from being pastors was old fashioned. Apparently they do not know the Word of God or they would know what the letters to Timothy say about women "preachers". According to the Word of God women are not to usurp authourity over the man, and the preacher/pastor must be the husband of one wife. The world is going to hell in a handbasket when so-called Christians call the Word of God old fashioned.

NO! I am not leaveing the ministry. I began of Circuit Rider Ministries, a voluntary ministry. I was unaware that there were numerous organizations of the same name when I chose that title. I am still the only Chaplain for the Fraternal Order of Police in Cumberland County and was appointed to the executive board of the Fayetteville Chapter of the Retired Military Police Association.as their Chaplain. I also provide voluntary worship services at the Village Green Rest Home and to an Adult Day Care facilility.. There are two churches that call on me at the spur of the moment to fill their pulpits when needed. I accepted the position of Adult Sunday School teacher, effective March 16, 2008. I am not bragging about me, I am just saying as the Word says, to let your good works so shine before men that the Father may be glorified, to paraphrase His Word. No, I am not leaving the ministry.
