God lives in my Grapefruit Tree

I started to read a story of how God lives in this ladies Catalpa Tree.
Before I got through the first paragraph it was a bit too much for me.
Perhaps you will not understand what I am about to say.
But. I have known from the very first day
That God resides in my grapefruit tree.
The proof of what I say you can really see.
         For wondrous happenings emerge
And God's graces He does splurge.
I have always had a brown thumb
        And my flowers often succumb.
For I would place them under it's branches to heal
It became my hospital tree and certainly ideal
It absolutely is not a mystery
How the tree portrays the family history
The last thirty years or so the tree has grown
Froma tiny spindling to heights unknown...
That tree has been pruned, climbed, stripped with love
By humans below and birds  from above
It has provided us  with delicious fruit, branches for nests
Shade for the little animals, & protection for pests.
Even when our faithful dog died
His gravesite  the tree did provide
Whenever, the children visit from far away.
They stop under the tree just to say,
A simple thank you to God above
For watching over the pet they love.

Creation

Creation

He toiled and slaved every day
Never faltering along the way.
There was a job to be done
After seven days He knew He'd won.

Was  His kingdom right, with not one mistake?
Was it perfect every river and lake?
Were His children ready to rule His prize?
His creation so very large in size.

On the Seventh day. His day of rest,
He touched the heavens and they were blest.
He bent His head and kissed the earth
For now He knew it's total worth.

The Carpenter

The Carpenter
      © Carol G. Oliver

Who from the rugged clay of sin and vice
Can raise mansions in Heaven's Paradise?
Who with His love can save a world of sin.
If only mortal hearts will let Him in?

Who His bitter enemies can forgive
The torture and misery they make Him live?
Who with a hand so tender and kind
Can open the eyes of a man who is blind?

Who can take the nations and make them brothers
Who can still the stormy raging see
The humble man could be no other
Than the Holy Carpenter of Galilee.

Grandma's Pantry

Grandma's pantry was a fright,
with empty tin cans & a broken light.
Food stuffed here and there
not even Grandma knew where.
The mice couldn't stand that place
They would look for cheese & pull out lace
Some of the things they ate without suggestion
gave them all acute indigestion.
I'll never forget Grandma's pantry
Where the food dare not spoil.
I'd look for candy in that pantry
And come up with Castor Oil.

45th Anniversary

 Our Love Remains

Come into my arms for you have captured my heart.
It was many years ago that we swore never to part.
Your love has sustained me over the years.
Through all the joys, sorrows and fears.
Our marriage was meant to be,
God certainly smiled on you and me.
When He blessed us with children so rare
Certainly, no others can possibly compare.
Time has a way of fleeting bye
Years have disappeared in the wink of an eye.
Though memories dim as far as details go.
Our love remains and just continues to grow.
The day will come when we must part.
We knew that from the very start.
That is why one will leave to prepare a place
To wait for the other with a fond embrace.
But till then we will enjoy our forty-fifth anniversary.
Together we will await the Lord's angelic emissary
Who will gently lead us home.
To reside with Jesus in the celestial dome.
