~ Tuesday TURMOIL ~
This day has been draining. The adjuster arrived by 8:50 a. m. I don't know if th chip on his shoulder is a product of what he's taught in adjuster school, something that's natural for him, or just a personna he takes on when dealing with a claim.
First and foremost, he was not prepared for what he came face to face with. He had left his car running with lights and wipers on. He was here for well over an hour.
The lists of things we have to do is long. Our hardwood flooring has to be removed and replaced. The carpets dried out, padding replaced, stretching the carpet and cleaning it. He did give us monies to replace Rhylan's pictures, and the stand for hubby's stereo.
Hubby and this guy eventually had some words...outside thankfully. Hubby offended adjuster. Oh my! I later called the adjuster and told him, hubby's not mean. He's suffered a stroke in the past, and when he gets angry he says things that are hurtful; yet, he's not really aware of the bluster that's coming out of his mouth. The brain is a mysterious organ.
Oh yes, the leak detector man??? He will be here at 3:30 today, again. We checked our water meter when the adjuster left, and with nothing in the house using water...the needle was still turning.
This makes me sick to my stomach, it has caused me a few tears the past couple of days. I feel like a balloon that has been pierced with a pin...deflated.
Even if the real estate market was/is "good", when we reveal all that we've been through with the house...who is going to want it? Even if all leaks are repaired at time of sale. Knowing it could happen again, would certainly make me wary as a possible buyer. Plus, I'm sure this will bring the selling price down, greatly.
Enough of my heartaches, bellyaches, etc. for today.
Have a blessed day, everyone.

(((Hugs))) I'm so sorry you have to deal with all this. It makes you wonder if the adjuster was planning on giving you the time of day at all, if he left his car running. I hope things smooth themselves out eventually hon. Keeping you in my prayers on the smoke. (Hugs) Indigo
