Feeling Angry
BOYCOTT NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION!!!!!!
I am so pissed! I have been a member with Navy Federal Credit Union for over 22 years. They have the WORST customer service ever. I DETEST them. We have our car note and Credit cards through them and I have a checking account with them. We have been doing our main banking with USAA Credit Union for the past 3 years now and just LOVE THEM! I wish all of you could join USAA right now.
A few weeks ago we went to the ATM at NFCU...it was out of service. So we went to the NEX and used the US BANK atm inside. We slid our card typed in our information and requested $200. We only received $140. We freaked out and the lady that works at the NEX said to call the number on the side of the ATM for service. I call the number and some lady answers the phone with music bumping in the background and says "yeah?" . Well I said "I am sorry I was trying to call the US BANK ATM service...I must have the wrong number." She says "nah you got the right number, what's wrong?" I told her the situation (without divuldging any personal info) and she told me to call my bank and file a claim. OK...I do so. No big deal everything will be taken care of Mrs. White sorry for your inconvience." Great!
The money is put back into my account a few days later everything is fine. Well, Seeing as we only use NFCU to pay our NFCU bills and when the once in a blue moon child support gets depositted...I dont check it other than to call and pay bills when they are due. So I log in today to get my account number and make a car payment. I see negative in my account. I was like WTF? I should have like $40. Mind you I only transfer enough to pay what bills are due, but I had $40 extra there as a buffer. So I am pissed and look through the trasactions. Last payday after I paid my bills they went and took the $60 back out from the ATM incident. And when the bills went through they were negative. I AM PISSED!!!!!!!! I have spent the past 3.5 hours on the phone with NFCU, US BANK, and the Navy exchange. Nobody will help me. My bank said they investigated the atm and that it was not over or under so I will not be getting my money back, but that it's ONLY $60. ONLY $60? Then give me MY ONLY $60! I feel like calling the news station to have them investigate it. I am so sick of NFCU screwing me over! ARGH!!!!!

OMG I would call the news station as well! My husband said he has read many storys with people having this problem. It happens often. This really sucks and it makes me scared to even go to the machines anymore...except for our bank...they have a camera on their machine so they can see what numbers you enter. That really sucks!! Hope you are able to get your money back.

we have been looking for a good nationwide bank chain to switch from Navy federal. My husband can not use a Bank of America ATM without it eatting his NF card. This has happened 2 or 3 times to the point where we will not use anything BOA... they refuse to return the card (even when this has happened at their bank during working hours) because we don't have an account with them. SO he has to call, cancel his and get a new one, two weeks of wait, this happened right before he deployed last fall... the DAY before. geesh. NF also tried to put a check through for the wrong amount (the e-check to the student loan place accidentally had an extra 0 on the end?) TWICE just for their own amusement apparently and charged us $20 each time it wouldn't clear, even though we never told them to try it twice. (at that particular time we had just paid off our car and didn't have $3000 in the checking account. lol) Also, no matter how much we have in the account they will wait 4 or 5 days after pay day and the HOLD some odd amount of cash. We can have $4 or 5,000 in the bank and 4 days after pay day they will withdraw like 12% of his last check for a few days and then magically the money will reappear with no documentation on WHERE it went or why. I could see if we kept very little money in there or over drew our accounts on a regular basis holding some money when the check is deposited but, it's all very strange! We paid off our car 2.5 years early a little while ago and I still haven't recieved any paperwork from them (title, etc) so I am starting to get more than a little annoyed. I bank with wacovia whom I like, but they are not nationwide... when we were stationed in Great Lakes for a short time the closest one was in Ohio, and I won't use Bank of America.
When the ATM at the Norfolk Commissary ate his card and withdrew but didn't give him the $260 that he had requested in cash. It took a lot of paperwork and about 2 months for us to ever see that money.
