Full Fledged BLADDER INFECTION *TMI WARNING*
Heaven Help Me....I felt it coming on a few days ago and ignored it thinking it would go away. BAD MISTAKE. The pain, the smell, the bloating, the cramps, and the PAIN. I get these so frequently it really aggrevates me. No matter what I do, they come around damn near every month. I barely get rid of one before another one comes. And cranberry juice has no effect on me at all. Shortly after my last entry I went to the bathroom and WHOA.....I knew then it was bad. I really don't feel lke sitting in the ER for this all night and day, so I looked online for some home remedies and OTC remedies and found a good bit of feedback for CYSTEX. I have tried most OTC products before and they did nothing. I am hoping and praying that this CYSTEX really works, or at least helps until I can get to my doctor. It's amazing how fast you it can go from slight irritation to full blown agony. And ummm hello but the SMELL! I am sorry if that is TMI but for those of you who have had a bladder infection....you know what I am talking about.
It has it's own distinct smell. Which is not nice nor FRESH!
So here I sit with this box of 40 pills, a bottle of water and a bottle of Vitamin C, stinking up my living room, and probally making James sick to his stomach. Here it is 2am and we went to not one but 2 stores to get my drugs, in the rain and the thundering and lighting (first time I have seen it here in SD).
We were almost accosted b a homeless man with no shoes, yet he smelled so strongly of alcohol......hard to help someone when they are drunk. My head hurts, and I am sleepy.
Anyways........
I ordered Becky's books and they are being sent directly to her, so that is one think checked off the list of unfinshed things.
I ordered an apron and its being sent to My apron buddy....3 weeks late...but better late than never! Once more thing checked off the list.
And now I feel achy! James also was not feeling too well today....he NEVER get's sick. I hope this is not one of those things he chooses to share with me! There is some type of late flu bug going around here....EWWWWWWW.
I am sorry if I offended anyone with this graphic entry. Please forgive me. It is the pain talking......and lack of sleep.......and headache........and ......and........and........It's MY journal and I felt like keeping it real! Amen! Good Day!

I get them when I do not drink enough water....if I get dehydrated, it makes the urine more concentrated...and then I get one..
hugs...

I feel for you! I get them all the time too. When I get them now I rarely go into the doc...I have been told they will go away on their own eventually if you drink more water. What I do is keep a good stock of AZO standard or Uristat on hand. Both are over the counter versions of the prescription Periduim. (might have spelled that wrong) that is the pill that turns your urine bright orange and takes the pain away. If I take those for a few days and slam down the water I can get rid of one on my own.
Good luck, I know how awful these are. Oh...and I once had a nurse tell me to fill the tub with hot water, sit it in and every time you feel you need to pee (which is usually a drop) to just let it go. I know sounds gross but it works, she also told me to wear a pad and pee in it...something about trying not to hold it helps. -
OH sweetie I hope this OTC works for you. Trust me I've read graphic entries and this wasn't graphic or offensive, this is just cruddy life at times.
God Bless

oh, poor you!! if you get them a lot, when you talk to your doctor, see if he/she will give you a back up prescription that you can have on hand since you already know your symptoms so you can start taking them at the first sign of getting a bladder infection.
cranberry pills, over-the-counter, if taken daily are suppose to help too; I take them at times when I feel I might be having an infection coming on and it clears it up, but I haven't had an infection in a long time
you know probably all the things to do; lots of water, etc etc etc
hope you feel better soon
