MUSEUM-GOER: Toulouse-Lautrec and Monmartre

Got the chance to see the Toulouse-Lautrec and Monmartre show at the National Gallery. Aside from it being pretty crowded, the exhibit flowed really well, as the ones in the East Building generally do, although I'm always disoriented when I leave because I never remember having walked up the mid-exhibit stairs, but that might just be me...

Loved how the rooms were arranged by theme, like Dancing Halls, because you can contrast the different artists featured, like Steinlen with Bonnard. The several Picassos peppered throughout were a treat, too, especially the 'Le Divan Japonaise.' Take the time to sit through the short film -- it's interesting to see how gimpy (apparently be/c of inbreeding) Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec really was, poor thing. I left the show in a bit of an absinthe haze and thinking, forget Paris in the '20s, it was all about the turn of the century.

Oui, check out more Paris on the Potomac events, while they last.

I know there is a number of Gallic-themed events going on around the city, but are any bars having Parisan inspired drink specials?
