Capital Jazz Fest vs. Duke Ellington?

Tix to the 2005 Capital Jazz Fest at Merriweather go on sale tomorrow at 10AM. (Yet another reason to be bright and alert on a Friday morning.) The fest runs June 3-5, and tix range from $29.50 to $87.50 for the first day and $39.50 to $124.50 on days two and three. You can snag your tix here to see Chaka Khan, Boney James, Kenny G and more.

Of course, time is money -- so if you don't have the bucks, maybe you have the months to wait. We hear that the brand-new
Duke Ellington Jazz Festival will be jazzing it up on the National Mall and along the Anacostia River this fall, Sept. 28-Oct. 1. All shows will be free, but the lineup's still TBA.
