Isn't it cool in pink?

Ah, glorious spring: the season of cherry blossoms, beer on 12th Street, and the haunting yells of ''Stand to the right and walk to the left!'' Valaer, Anonymous Photoblogger and I hit the Sakura Matsuri-Japanese Street Festival on Saturday, with oh, about 14 billion tourists. Unfortunately, we spent pretty much our entire visit waiting in line for lukewarm Chinese food -- one hour, 40 minutes, to be precise. We could have been waiting in line for U2 tickets and still gotten served quicker. Ultimately, this wait led to sunburn, crankiness and my getting hit in the elbow with chicken teriyaki. Got a peep of the cherry blossoms after the food though, and that cured all. Pink is an awfully good color on Washington.

(Are you one of those 14,000,000,000 tourists? Check out what there is to do on the National Mall.)
