Notes to Self

Hot nuggets from AOL Sports for consideration while bracketing...

"Since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985, No. 1 seeds are a perfect 76-0 in the first round." St. Joes?

"Over the past two years, No. 12 seeds have won just as many first-round games as they've lost." Manhattan?

"Over the past four seasons, mid-major teams have made the Sweet 16 only four times." Southern Illinois?

"A single conference has placed at least two teams in the Final Four each of the past five seasons and 14 times in the last 19 years." ACC?

"In 14 of the last 16 years, at least one ACC team has earned a birth in the Final Four." Duke, Wake, GT, UNC, MD, NC St.?

"Is there a Carmelo Anthony in this year's tournament? We don't see anyone quite as dominant, but that doesn't mean you should ignore the skills of fantastic freshmen like Sean Banks of Memphis, Duke's Luol Deng, Chris Paul of Wake Forest, and Pitt's Chris Taft." My money's on Paul.
