Hearing Death Cab for Cutie

'Round the Web

Billy Packer is calling the St. Joe's-Wake game Thu. at 10PM ET. The combination of Packer on the sidelines and Jameer Nelson and Chris Paul on the court makes for a can't-miss game. Just for fun, read what Joe's coach Phil Martelli had to say about Packer: "I will anticipate that he will apologize now that the weak Atlantic 10 has two teams in the Sweet 16. But I won't be holding my breath on that."

Michael Wilbon had a great column in Monday's Washington Post. "I don't want to hear any more about East Coast bias, okay? I don't want to hear from any sportswriters from L.A. or Seattle criticizing us for not staying up late enough to watch WAC and Pac-10 games. Why would we need to stay up late to see that weak junk? You may want to go West, young man, to see the best in the NBA, but not in the NCAA. Stanford is out. Gonzaga is out. Arizona is out. Washington is out. They stunk. The Pac-10 had its lights punched out faster than Michael Spinks by Mike Tyson." Hard to disagree w/ him here.

You gotta see this great pic of GT's Jarret Jack dunking in the final seconds of a close win over BC.

Interesting note from AOL's Steve Aschburner: "Teams seeded 10th are 8-2 against No. 2 seeds since 1999. Gonzaga twice pulled off the upsets and now is among the fallen."

One of my favorite writers, ESPN's Sports Guy, was entertaining as usual. Quick excerpt: "Is it just me, or are Emeka Okafor and Chris Paul looking like the only Tournament stars who could make an NBA All-Star team some day? I know guys like Luol Deng, Josh Childress, Devin Harris, Ben Gordon and Jameer Nelson are potential top-15 picks ... but would you wager on seeing any of them in an All-Star Game?" I'd add Syracuse's Hakim Warrick to this list.

If you find something good out there, post it here.

Hey, thanks for given Hakim Warrick some credit! I'm a Syracuse native, and I live in California now... Syracuse never get's any props! Jim Boeheim's a great coach and we're proud of him! :)

All the lastest top guns are good. They are fast and good shots when left alone. However, if you look at the records you will find that NONE of todays top guns even come close to Pistol Pete Maravich's ball handling, shooting, or game promotions. Pete Maravich was, and still is, the best of the best !
