Big Catfight: Kobe vs. Karl
The Kobe-Karl primadonnafest reaches dizzying heights as Bryant accuses Malone of hitting on his wife at a game. This must rival MJ's jumper to close out the '98 Finals as the Mailman's lowest moment. Just read these quotes:
Karl's agent: "Malone was asked by Vanessa Bryant, 'Hey, cowboy, what are you hunting?' in reference to Malone wearing a cowboy hat and boots. Karl answered, 'I'm hunting for little Mexican girls.'"
Kobe's agent: "Malone asked Vanessa if she could keep a secret, and that he would like to tell her something. At which point Vanessa told him she was a married woman and he was a married man who was old enough to be her father. To which Malone replied, 'Oh, like your daddy.'"
Kobe: "My wife wasn't going to stand for it. She felt uncomfortable being around him to the point that she felt she had to call his wife and tell her."
Kobe's agent: "Kobe said Karl's only reply was, 'You know me, man.' To which Kobe told him, 'That's right, I do know you -- and stay away from my wife.'"
Karl's agent: "[Karl's] a basketball player and not a soap opera actor and he doesn't intend to be involved in a personal soap opera."
The Sportz Assassin provides a Lakers fan's perspective on this whole debacle.
12/15 update: ESPN's John Saunders just said this to Kobe in an interview: "I've been doing this a long time, and it's hard to remember a fall from grace farther than your's." Ouch.

How can Kobe be mad at a guy for joking with his wife and he had sex with another woman ?
Its crazy for him to even say he's upset at a close friend for making a joking comment with his wife and he had sex with a woman in Colorado.
I think he needs to get his head examined .
Kobe is a great player but his personality and arrogance is horrible. -
Kobe have to stand up for his wife Karl got to back off

Malone is a hall of famer, but clearly in more than one domain. Move over Roger Lodge, with his comments, he's paved the way for a prosperous career as a television dating show host...
