T.O. sent the hearts of Philly fans and the stomachs of Atlanta's D aflutter when he said he'll play in the NFC Championship on Sunday. The Philadelphia Enquirer reports:

"Owens called Atlanta wide receiver Jimmy Farris to say he might play against the Falcons, causing a momentary stir. 'I was just messing with the guy,' Owens told the Inquirer last night. 'I am not going to jeopardize my career by coming back too soon.'

'He says he's playing," Falcons coach Jim Mora told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. 'He said [to Farris]: 'Hey, you tell Jim I might be there. I might be there.' And I'll tell you what, he's such a tremendous competitor... old [No.] 81 might just trot out on the field Sunday.'

Owens befriended Farris when Farris was on the 49ers' practice squad in 2001. 'He called me during the [Vikings-Eagles] game and said, 'I might just be out there. You never know,' ' Farris said.

'But I won't be joking come Super Bowl week,' Owens said."
