Hearing our show at SportsBloggersLive.com

Opening Day!

Welcome back, old friend. For the record, here are my 2005 predictions:

AL Division Winners: Yanks, Twins, Angels
AL Wild Card: Red Sox
AL Champ: Twins
NL Division Winners: Braves, Cards, Padres
NL Wild Card: Marlins
NL Champ: Marlins
World Series Champ: Twins

Post your picks here!

David Wells and Randy Johnson I have the Twins beating the Sox-Yanks.

Now, before I ditch work for Opening Day at Camden Yards, here are bits from the Hardball Blogosphere...

-- George's Yankees Blog reacts to the Yanks 9-2 opening victory: "I never really understood why the fans in Texas booed A-Rod or the fans in Boston despised Clemens. I figured it out tonight when I saw David Wells on the mound with 'Boston' across his chest. It's not completely rational, but it was so great seeing him get shelled (even though he's on my fantasy team)."

-- Show Me Your Blog was at the Nats exhibition at RFK Stadium: "The food line demonstrated that this was an exhibition game for the stadium personnel as well.  There was all of one concession stand open for the entire upper deck, creating a line similar to how I image the wait for the woman’s bathroom at a Lilith Fair to be: endless and full of people bitching. Other than that little hiccup, and the fact that the Nats lost by a run, the game was fantastic."

-- The Sawxophile takes his final warmup swings: "Yeah, I'd pick the Yankees to beat out the Sox for the division right now, based on a little more certainty about their rotation (although Kevin Brown's back acted up again yesterday). But come October, all bets are off."

-- Tigers Weekly says Detroit wins the Central. Tigers Dugout says they get a Wild Card.

-- Reds Journal predicts 110+ HR out of the Dunn-Griffey-Kearnsoutfield.

-- 97 Heaven - Commentary on the Cubs breaks down Chicago and says, "They should be in the race for the playoffs until the end."

-- A's Ways tries to answer 162 questions out in Oakland.

-- The Ohio LeBlog breaks down the Tribe: "Mark Shapiro’s plan over the past 3-4 years is evolving nicely. While it still might take another year or two, our attempt at building version 2 of the greatest offense in baseball history is coming along."

-- Bonus: Richard Justice answers baseball pressing questions and predicts Lee "Silly" Mazzilli will be fired. I think he's wrong, and the O's will post their first winning season since the '90s.

-- Reminder: This week's Sports Bloggers Live airs Tuesday night at 7PM ET. The show leads off w/ Mets Blog, then Yanksfan vs. Soxfan and 12 year-old Alex.
