Saturday Morning Blog: the Draft is Daft

-- Here's a tight look at eight Draft sleepers. Outside of that, I'm not devouring any more Draft content, but I must share Jaws' new piece of draft jargon: 'platforms.' As in, "Alex Smith has the ability to throw from many different platforms." Put that on the shelf next to 'escapeability' and I'll come back to it on Monday. May your weekend be as good as Kiper Junior's hair. Moving on...

-- George W. Bush, baseball commissioner?

-- In case you missed it, a 35 year-old man fell out of the 500 level of RFK Stadium and landed on the 100 level. He was critically injured and police investigated whether light beer was a factor.

-- UNC's May, Felton and Marvin Williams all go pro. Sportz Assassin breaks down the dismantling of a champion, and NBADraft.net projects Williams to go 2nd, Felton 8th and May 17th (which is exactly the opposite of how effective they were in college).

-- ChiSox are off to their best start in 70 years (13-4), and Ozzie Guillen's got bad blood with Magglio Ordonez.

-- Detroit Free Press reinstates Mitch Albom, I guess b/c he writes great made-for-TV movies.

-- Boston Globe's Bob Ryan is catching a lot of flack for insinuating that Nomar wheezes the juice, and deservedly so.

-- Peep the blog makeover Alex the 12 year-old sports blogging phenom received for being named the SBL Rookie Blogger of the Month for March.

-- Calling the Shots says, "Be gone, Padilla, be gone!", and Jersey Joe examines the Cameron Diaz dilemma in New York.

-- Soxfan reminds Yanksfan of how Boston's FA pitchers are outperforming New York's. Of course Yanksfan reminds Soxfan that Renteria is straddling the Mendoza Line.

-- Will Carroll posts in his Juice Blog about how weird it is to be featured in SI (read the excerpt from his new book). We'll have Will on SBL Monday night (7-8 PM ET) to discuss 'The Juice'. Also tune in for SI's Peter King and funny man Frank Caliendo.

Bob Ryan heard it from me....no kid, and Mia Hamm divorces him in 2007.

I knew people in his condo development in Charlestown, and they said he always had a "nutrional consultant" with him as he worked out. Uice-jay!
