Jeter in Center and Other Things That Make Me Happy

The photo gallery is (mostly lame) photos I took at last week's Booz Allen at Congressional and Nats game at RFK that I was lucky enough to attend. The rest of this entry is stuff I came across while researching for tonight's Sports Bloggers Live that I wanted to share:

· OnlyBaseballMatters.com is usually the best Giants blog on the web. However, one of the non-SF entries by John Perricone caught my eye, and he'll be on SBL tonight to ruminate on Jeter moving to CF. Really, it makes a lot of sense. And I can't wait to see & hear how Yankees fans react.

· BaseballMusings.com is my hero. His hot rocks from over the weekend include Bonds to the AL, Bosox not making moves, Torre's job on the line, A-Rod at 400 and so much more. We're hoping to have David Pinto (the man behind the Musings) on Thursday's SBL Extra, and I'd be honored to be on his BM Radio show.

· My buddy Andy (Putts From the Rough) was at the Booz Allen w/ me and will also be on SBL tonight to help preview the U.S. Open. He's calling it even money that Toms, DiMarco or Els wins at Pinehurst.

· Sportz Assassin and RealGM.com's JT Magee will also be on SBL to discuss Phil, the Finals and the Draft. Speaking of, Andrew Bogut denies that he has a degenerative eye disorder.

· This is always fun... Top 10 All-Time NBA Draft Busts.

· Jim Armstrong says we can forget about Tyson. I disagree. We'll discuss this on SBL as well, b/c every blogger under the sun is weighing in -- George Coztanza, Sportz AssassinCleveland Rox!, Alex the Blog Phenom, etc.

Did anyone actually watch this fight? Did Tyson really try to break the guy's arm (as has been widely reported)? If so, drop a comment.

I watch this fight. It was actually a good fight until Mike became tired and frustrated because he hit this guy with all he had and cound not hurt him. I had Mike up on my score card but the big fella was starting to getto him. Mike knew it and tried to break his arm and caught the big fella witha head but. If Mike was in shape to go 12 he would have won. Mike was about get knocked out again. He has no heart -I'm not sure if he ever had heart. A great fighter in his day But that was in his day

The Tyson fight was merely the opening salvo in a new push towards white guy sports/entertainment dominance.

Addition to original comment: If you're going to play Russ Johnson at 3B as he suggested in his blog, it makes a lot more sense to play Bubba Crosby in CF IMO. Crosby would give about the same amount of offense as Johnson and be better in CF than Jeter. Plus any edge you'd gain by switching Jeter and A-Rod at SS would probably be negated by playing Russ Johnson over A-Rod at 3B. Jeter to CF probably will work someday, but I don't think it's the best option at this point in time.
