Hearing Death From Above 1979

T.O. in Silver & Black?

From RotoWire (thanks to Brian for the link):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A report has surfaced that the Eagles are in negotiations with the Raiders on a trade that would send Owens to Oakland for Jerry Porter, according to ABC sports.

Recommendation: Randy Moss told reporters Wednesday he could co-exist with Owens as long as he receives the number of passes he deserves. We doubt that the two receivers would get along in Oakland but the Eagles appear to be so upset with Owens that they would be willing to put the best two receivers in the league on the same team. This would initially cloud the value of both players but stay tuned for more rumors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd call this hogwash unless Peter King hadn't ruminated about the same deal on SBL back on May 23rd. Hear it here.

Moss may say that he doesn't mind having T.O. with him on the Raiders but their will still be too much ego at that one position. Plus their salary will blow the Raiders into salary cap trouble. So I don't think that trade will happen. Having T.O. and Randy Moss is a very deadly idea but to excute it the Raiders still need a quarterback who is consistent with his game. Now if the Raiders had drafted Ben Roethlisberger then it was change up the situation because the Raiders would have a rookie who proved to be better than anyone expectations and having the 2 best wide recievers in the NFL right now would be not only sick but very dangerous. Unfortuanetly the Raiders do not have Ben so they must secure the QB postion instead of thinking up carzy schemes about the deadliest pass offense in the NFL.

Thankfully, for salary cap reasons alone the deal can never take place.
