Hearing John Patterson shut out the Mets

Baseball's Mystery Men

So much to say, so little time. Here are a bunch of things I could go on about, but Friday nights are not for blogging so I'll keep it short:

· Last night my buddy Sev told me his gambling boards are on fire with rumors about Clemens testing positive for 'roids.* Then I visit the Sports Frog today and their boards are ruminating that "at least two "big-name" baseball stars have tested postive for steroids and are going through the same drawn-out appeal process that Palmeiro did." We'll try to get the straight dope on Monday night's SBL with someone like Buster Olney, Ken Rosenthal, Peter Verducci, Richard Justice or Will Carroll. If you're privy to information on this, please post it here.

· Also on Sports Frog, they don't care if Moss smokes pot. And neither do I. Sidenote: Now more than ever I want a Silver & Black Moss jersey for my birthday.

· Boston.com's all-time greatest sports video game tourney is fantastic. The potential Final Four matchup between Double Dribble and Mike Tyson's Punch Out! is out of this world. And we're trying to get the two geniuses who put this tourney together to come on SBL Monday night, so post your thoughts on it here.

· Mighty MJD has agreat take on the shameful behavior of Repent Americans outside of yesterday's "Gay Day" game in Philly.

· Manny being Manny

· SI's '94 25-and-under MLB team

· ForYouTO.com

* This was before my buddy Bull got up on the bar to dance with a bachelorette party at Coyote Ugly DC. Of course, the bouncer pulled him down immediately and almost kicked us out. Which would've been fine, b/c I don't know what the hell I was doing in a Coyote Ugly anyway.

Regarding Randy Moss (and all those other overpaid people):  Believe me, anyone admitting to smoking pot, who has access to the money that he has, is doing a lot more than just smoking pot.  Give me a Break!  And that goes for all of the steroid users...losers!

Jae seo actuallly shut out the Nats and the Mets won 1-0

I knew Clemens was on steriods  and I know exactly when he started them too. Summer of 2000. Let me tell you the story Clemens era is up over 4.50 snd he gets crushed by Mike PIazza in the the interleague Subway series. Then he goes on the DL goes down to Tampa for rehab, comes back throwing 7 mph faster and looks to be in in beter shape in terms of muscles and may have goten bigger but that could be age. The bottom lin is that he came back fromTampa after being embarrassed by Piazza more powerful and throwing much faster in the time he was there. No ones fastball gains that much speed in that time. He rehabed got on steriods stole a Worls Series right awat from the Mets because of Steriods

I've heard the Clemens rumor and that the other big name is Johnny Damon. Michael Kay of ESPN Radio NY reported last week that there were two big names, one from each league that would stun the sport. However, I've heard that MLB called that show yesterday to deny the rumor.
