As the World Series Turns
Yes, the drama of October baseball has reached soap opera-level proportions. It could be argued that Game 2 -- horrible weather, another blown call, Konerko's slam, Vizcaino's pinch-hit, Podsednik's walk-off, etc. -- was one of the best World Series games ever. Of course, I'm not going to do that because those arguments are best left to the so-called experts, but I will drop some WS-related commentary and links on you and yours. Feel free to leave your own:
· How improbable was Scotty P.'s homer off Lidge? Jayson Stark writes an excellent piece answering that very question. What Stark fails to mention is that Podsednik is engaged to Lisa Dergan. Lucky!
Pod goes long and gets the girl

Update: Because I know some (ok, most) of you won't click to "get more," here are three items on Hardball Bloggers you should not go without:
· Video of two crying (and seemingly hammered) Cardinals fans [KMOV TV-4 St. Louis]
· Biggio's wife slapped by (male) ChiSox fan [AOL Sports]
· A-Rod called an "[bleep]hole" by a paparazzi-like fan [Deadspin]

Why was the base runner not called out for running far inside the first base line on the missed tag with the ball why running to first. Not sure of the difference in the previous call out for running inside the base line. Rule says the runner should have been out

Two HORRIBLE calls that they benefitted from. And this isn't to say the White Sox aren't the best team out there. They've won 17 of their last 20 games.....and 15 of those were without missed umpire calls.
The Astros are still in this series, however. They play very well at home and have their best pitcher in the biggest game of franchise history. They must win.....and hope that Clemens can shake off his horrible Game 1 performance and get Game 5.
