Hearing Buck & McCarver

Bugger Off, Black Sox!

It must feel great to be a White Sox fan. Congratulations to that long-suffering bunch on sweeping the Astros and winning it all. They waited 88 years for this and certainly exorcised the demons in proper fashion with 99 wins, an 11-1 postseason record, a fearless and loquacious manager and a gang of guys -- Konerko, Dye, Crede, El Duque, Pierzynski, Buerhle, Jenks-y cat, Contreras, Podsednik, hell, Blum -- that you can't help but pull for. I was even beginning to like Carl Everett, so it's probably for the best that it's over.

They won't be in the office Thursday.

As for Astros fans... Chin up. You were neck-and-neck with the Nationals for the Wild Card less than two months ago, and you and yours ended up making it all the way to the first World Series in franchise history. And Brandon Backe should get his pick of women in Texas tonight.
